Autumn decorations are colorful reminders of the changes in the seasons. Many of these decorations are in earth toned colors, with browns, yellows and orange hues similar to the changes in color of the leaves on the trees. With autumn comes Halloween and Thanksgiving; the decorations for fall can be used to decorate for both holidays.
Colorful leaves are the essence of many autumn decorations. Rolled garlands of leaves are available for decorating and crafts. The autumn garland can be strung in windows, used to drape over doors and used for various types of crafts. For instance, you can make lovely wreaths and door sprays with the autumn garland.
Corn stalks, husks and cobs are also an essential part of decorations for autumn. For farmers, the harvest is over, the corn is all gone from the fields and all that remains are the dried stalks that once nourished the cobs as they grew. Scarecrows are once again viable to all whereas when the corn was still trying to reach the sky, the only ones able to see them were the birds flying over looking for food. So, fall decorations often include scarecrows and decorations made from (or to look like) corn in its final graceful state.
There are several fun autumn decorations such as the fall leaf ceiling twirls that will spin with a breeze or the air from the fan when the heat comes on. There are also many lovely fall door murals that can be used indoors or outdoors. The murals will completely cover the door with their delightful scenes.
Pumpkins, gourds and cornucopias of fruit are also an essential part of fall decorations. Many items include these fruits and vegetables in their designs. For instance there are autumn flags and fall banners that display scenes such as pumpkin fields or a welcome message with a table using an overflowing cornucopia as an autumn centerpiece.
Autumn decorations signify that the harvest is over and all the hard work of the past year is now the plentiful bounty that will carry us through the winter. Autumn is a time when many living things begin to rest as the trees do until spring. It is also a time to give thanks for the yields that are the” fruit of our labor”. Plus, it’s time to have fun as we set up the decorations looking forward to Halloween.
