Halloween Decorating
Halloween decorating is a fun project you can involve the whole family in. There are some really wonderful outdoor Halloween decorations that Dads will love to setup, like Halloween lighted décor’, Halloween inflatables for the yard, and Halloween signs. Indoors the kids will enjoy helping you with other Halloween decorating such as setting up the Halloween table decorations. So this year, you can get the whole family involved when you decorate for Halloween.
The Halloween decorations for the yard that are available these days are absolutely phenomenal compared to days of old. There are several animated figures for the yard such as a storyteller reaper with moving jaws and light up eyes. Then there are items like the 5-1/2′ life-sized witch with a fogging cauldron that is motion activated; she’ll come to life when someone walks by, with piercing lighted eyes, her body and arms sway mixing the potion she’s got brewing in the steaming cauldron. Dads are sure to have fun, safely setting up the animated Halloween decorations! However, all the animated characters come with easy to understand instructions, so Moms can set them up too.
There are also several inflatable characters available for Halloween decorating outdoors. For instance there is a trio of ghosts holding up the words, “Boo”. Three witches that stand to a height of 6’ are air blown and huddle around a magic brew cooking in a cauldron. A vampire rising from a coffin is also an air blown, animated Halloween inflatable available for your Halloween decorating. There are even Halloween inflatables designed specifically for Halloween parties such as an inflatable skeleton cooler that can be filled with ice to hold the bloody drinks.
Many of the life-sized Halloween decorations can also be used indoors. You can set up a fun haunted house in the garage with them or simply place them in the room where you plan to hold your Halloween theme parties. You guests are sure to be delighted with the animations and sounds from many of the larger characters.
Of course there are stationary life-sized Halloween statues too that can be used indoors or outdoors. You can place them along the walkway that the trick-or-treaters have to walk in order to reach your door, or put them in the yard with flashing strobe lights shining on them and they will give an illusion of animation. Yet indoors some of the life-sized Halloween decorations can be even more fun. A head in a laboratory jar would certainly spark conversations if you put it on the table with your party foods… Add a couple of shrunken heads in a flask and you’ve got your Halloween table decorations! You can also stick these items right next to the bowl that has the Halloween candy for the kids.
There are also several backdrops available for you to use in your Halloween party room, like the scene of a haunted forest or a spooky cloth you can hang over a door. Additionally there are Halloween decorating items you put up on the inside that are seen from the outside, such as a mummy window cling that looks like the guy is peeking through the window.
When you decorate for Halloween, don’t forget to use items like Wacky String to create cobwebs. Using additional lighting outdoors, particularly strobe lights will also help set the scene. Remember, your Halloween decorating can be fun for the whole family, but it needs to be safe for the trick-or-treaters too. So, do make sure that you have your walkway sufficiently lighted for the little tikes…
