Halloween party themes can be anything from scaring to daring, depending on the age group of the guests. Often party themes are based around current movies, such as some of the Disney movies, but they don’t have to be. You can either have a specific party theme such as “Superheroes Only”, or you can broaden your theme with ideas such as “Frightening Costume Party”.
With children, when considering Halloween party themes, you should take a little time to consider the types of costumes available for the theme you have in mind. Is there enough of a variety of tween and kids costumes for that particular theme available so that each child can dress as something else? Also, when you are considering a theme for kids, consider the types of Halloween decorations you can use, the Halloween party favors that go with the theme, etc…
Remember, you may be able to come up with some great Halloween theme ideas, but if there aren’t enough costume styles available for that particular theme or other items you’ll need for the party, then the party is just about dead before it starts. So, plan out every aspect of the party before committing to it. Think about every little thing you’ll need for the theme, including the party invites, to the Halloween party songs, to the Halloween party favors.
With adults, you can plan on anything from a mixed bag of nuts getting together to celebrate the fun of Halloween or specify “couples only”, or even plan a party specifically for historical costumes from any era in history. Adult theme parties for Halloween can also be a tad risqué if you want to limit the guests to sexy costumes only. However, some adults seem to enjoy the freedom of themes where just about anything goes from fun costumes to the grotesque. That means, for these types of Halloween party themes, any Halloween decorations and Halloween party goods will work.
